The PA Department of Agriculture is trying to slow the spread of this invasive pest and has added it to its regular inspections of Palmer’s trees. Palmer’s and most Christmas Tree Farms in eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey are in the quarantine area. Trees need to be checked for egg masses before they leave our farm. Prior to purchase, please re-inspect your tree for spotted lanternfly egg masses which may be on the trunk of the tree. The egg masses must be scrapped off the tree and destroyed (double bag in trash, burn, or submerge the eggs in alcohol or hand sanitizer).
